February 9th 2025 11.00 all day session SSI React Right course

React Right is SSI’s emergency first response course and provides you with the training and knowledge you need to act as a first responder in a medical emergency. In this flexible dive program, you can choose which subjects you want to learn about, including primary assessment, first aid, CPR and primary stabilization techniques. You can also learn about oxygen administration in diving emergencies and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) basics. Using a combination of academic sessions and practical training scenarios, this program will give you the tools and confidence you need for emergency response. By the time you are certified, you will be able to act as an emergency first responder, provide first aid and CPR, administer oxygen and provide AED support in a medical emergency. please see details in shop courses and kit where are our courses are available to purchase

February 7th & 14th 2025 SSI PERFECT BOUYANCY for confined water skills, these will be conducted at Todmorden pool, arrive 7.15 finish 9pm both sessions, theory must be completed prior to sessions. Please see details in shop courses and kit where are our courses are available to purchase

FEBRUARY 16TH 1 PM PADI PROJECT AWARE COURSE

This specialty course is an introduction to Project AWARE as a global movement for ocean protection. It focuses and expands on the 10 Tips for Divers to Protect the Ocean Planet. Through interactive discussions, you'll learn how you can make a difference for ocean protection every time you dive or travel. A dry, ‘fins off' course, this specialty is ideal for divers and non divers alike to gain insight into how decisions above and below the surface impact our water planet. price includes digital theory, theory session & certification with PADI Price includes manual download & certification with PADI, open to all.

FEBRUARY 16TH 2.30 PM PADI CORAL CONSERVATION COURSE.

This specialty course informs divers and non divers about the plight of the world’s coral reefs. The course describes how coral reefs function and why they are so important. It also reviews why many reefs are in serious trouble and what individuals can do to prevent further decline. Most divers, snorkelers and environmental enthusiasts have already visited or plan to visit a coral reef. The Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course provides the knowledge base for proper interaction while touring a reef. It works in conjunction with Project AWARE's popular AWARE - Our World, Our Water manual which is a valuable resource for anyone interested in understanding and preserving aquatic environments as well as learning more about ocean environments, ecosystems and threats. MAY 31ST & JUNE 1ST SSI STRESS & RESCUE

The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty program teaches you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers.

You will learn how to identify stress, how to prevent accidents and be taught practical techniques to conduct rescues and provide emergency care. With a combination of pool and open water practice sessions, you will become well prepared and confident at handling emergency and rescue situations.

Minimum Age 12

There will also be two pool session to learn skills required for the open water days, these will be on Friday the 23rd & 30th May. Kit is not provided on courses other than beginner courses, if you don't have your own kit please talk to us .

MAY 31ST & JUNE 1ST PADI RESCUE DIVER

PADI rescue course running Saturday May 31st & Sunday June 1st , with two pool sessions on Thursday 22nd & Thursday 29th. Rescue is great fun whilst learning, how to recognize and manage stress in other divers. How to respond to panicked and unresponsive divers. How to perform self-rescue. How to use emergency equipment. How to deal with missing divers. How to surface an unconscious diver & how to perform CPR and first aid. Theory needs to be completed prior to the pool sessions & if you don’t have a valid first aid then this also needs to be completed prior to the course . JULY 13th SSI & PADI NAVIGATION COURSE

You will learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, how to leave and return to a designated point, plus basic navigation patterns. You will also be taught how to combine navigation techniques to enhance your diving experience. All of which hones your underwater observation skills, improves your dive safety and helps you to get the most out of every dive.
